Everclear is a grunge band founded in 1990 (see 1990 in music) after frontman Art Alexakis' former band, Colorfinger[?], broke up.

Everclear is 95% (190 proof) grain alcohol, distilled from 100% pure ethanol. It is illegal in many US states. By contrast, normal hard liquors such as rum and vodka contain only 40% alcohol (80 proof). Everclear is usually mixed into an alcoholic beverage; straight consumption of Everclear can be lethal.
