Hayman fire

The Hayman fire began June 8, 2002, in a forest southwest of Denver, Colorado. Hundreds of forestry officials and firefighters have risked their lives to fight the fast-moving inferno, which has caused nearly $7 million in damage, burned 25 homes and forced the evacuation of 5,340 persons. The blaze, initially labelled a wildfire, was accidentally ignited by a federal forester who lit a campfire while on duty enforcing a ban on campfires.
