PC-DOS was
IBM's original disk
operating system for the
IBM PC. It employed a command line interface via its command interpreter, command.com. It was nearly identical to Microsoft's
MS-DOS except that it was called
PC-DOS on IBM-brand machines, while it was referred to as MS-DOS on IBM-compatible
PCs.
PC-DOS debuted with the IBM PC in 1981.
