Raymond Pettibon is an artist, most famous for his relation to brother
Greg Ginn of
Black Flag fame. He is known for his bizarre comic-like drawings with disturbing or ironic captions. His artwork was prominent in the 1980's
Los Angeles punk scene, appearing on flyers and records (most famously those of Black Flag and
Sonic Youth). He released numerous books through Ginn's
SST Records, though most are now out of print. Since then, he has gained acclaim on the international art scene, with his first major exposition in 1995.
