The
San were the original inhabitants of
South Africa and the oldest of the 5 human races (khoisanoid). They appeared in Africa about 30 000 years ago, and were largely exterminated by the Dutch settlers. Only a few scattered bands remain.
San is also a
river in Southern
Poland.
