Södermanland

Södermanland or Sudermannia, is a traditional province or landskap on the south eastern coast of Sweden. It borders to Östergötland, Närke, Västmanland and Uppland. It is also bounded by lake Mälaren and the Baltic sea.

The province of Södermanland is divided upon the County of Södermanland, which occupies the heartland, and the County of Stockholm, which has claimed about a quarter of the territory in the west.

Arms granted in 1560. The arms is represented with a dukal coronet. Blazon: "Or, a Griffin rampant Sable beaked, langued, membered and armed Gules."
